Speaking during an interview at Radio Row in Las Vegas, Hoge expressed his lack of enthusiasm for Williams’ performance at USC, asserting that he does not consider Williams to be a standout talent.
Hoge, who clarified that he has only reviewed a portion of Williams’ game footage, drew an unfavorable comparison between Williams and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He cautioned against the Bears attempting to replicate past successes by pursuing another quarterback with Mahomes’ level of talent, stating, “The kid is not Patrick Mahomes. He is nowhere near that level.”
Chicago fans are grappling with a pressing question as the NFL draft approaches, and the Bears hold the No. 1 pick.
