FC Urtecht want to sign Sam Lammers permanently after a successful loan spell and talks are planned with Rangers, according to the player himself.
While speaking to Telegraaf (23 May), the Dutch striker confirmed that the club have told him they want him to continue there next season after hitting ten goals and registering three assists in 18 appearances in the Eredivisie.
And the 27-year-old shared that he will hold talks with the Gers once the season comes to an end, and revealed he has barely had any contact with the club in the last six months.
“I don’t want to worry about that right now,” he said, when asked about his future.
“The only thing I can say about it is that FC Utrecht has indicated that it wants to continue with me longer. I don’t know what happens next. That will all only happen after these matches, because I don’t want to do anything that could cause me to lose focus.
“I am under contract with them [Rangers] and will be the first to discuss them. I haven’t really had any contact with Rangers in the last six months. We will have conversations after this season.”

Michael Beale had a clear vision for his Rangers squad last summer, but it didn’t work out at all and the clear loser in the whole situation was Lammers.
He never really looked good enough to play for the light Blues and was lacking confidence, while the fans got on his back too after a string of poor performances left them chasing Celtic early on.
But he has gone to the Netherlands and turned in some spectacular performances, which has drummed up good interest in a permanent deal.
With big changes expected at Ibrox this summer there could be some temptation to bring him back into the fold in the hope that he could reproduce that in a blue shirt, but it would be the wrong decision.
Now is the perfect time to cash in. Everyone will be better off for it, and the club can put the money towards signing players that Philippe Clement actually wants as part of his revolution.
