The Buffalo Bills were back on the clock at pick No. 128 overall in the fourth round. They chose to select Kentucky running back Ray Davis with that pick. Davis is a college journeyman who succeeded everywhere he went. There’s a lot of tread on the tires, but Davis kept improving in college despite 860 career touches to his name over five seasons.
Davis is on the short end at 5’8” and 211 pounds. He’s got short area juice and is a very creative runner who has excellent second- and third-level vision to set up defenders for whatever his next move is. He has an excellent story, spending much of his young life in foster care.
He might only be a one-contract player as he’s set to turn 25 years old during his rookie season, but Bills fans will have a hard time not rooting for a player who runs as hard as he does while being equally explosive. Davis may have had the best game tape of any running back in this class for his 2023 performance against Florida.

The age and wear already taken at the college level is a concern, and he must continue to improve as a pass protector to be trusted consistently. Davis offers you a package of strong running, explosiveness, excellent pass catching, and creativity in the open field while being supported by one of the more remarkable stories of perseverance in the NFL Draft.
