The New York Giants have recently acquired Matt Nelson, an offensive tackle who previously played for the Detroit Lions. Nelson, who is 28 years old, stands at an impressive height of 6’7″ and weighs 315 pounds. He initially joined the Lions as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft. During his first year, Nelson spent time on the Lions’ Practice Squad. Unfortunately, he faced a setback in the 2023 season due to an ankle injury, which led to his placement on the Injured Reserve list. Throughout his career, Nelson has participated in a total of 43 regular-season games, starting in 14 of them. In the 2021 season alone, he started in 11 games. Nelson has primarily played as a right tackle.
GIANTS RE-SIGN ISAIAH HODGINS
Isaiah Hodgins, the talented wide receiver, has been re-signed by the New York Giants. Instead of designating Hodgins as a restricted free agent, the Giants opted not to tender him, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent. According to reports, Hodgins has agreed to a 1-year contract with the team.
Although Hodgins had a productive stint as a late-season addition in 2022, his performance in the 2023 season did not meet expectations. Despite playing in all 17 games and starting in nine of them, Hodgins recorded only 21 receptions for 230 yards and three touchdowns.
The Giants acquired Hodgins via waivers from the Buffalo Bills in early November 2022. He quickly made an impact, participating in eight regular-season games with five starts. During that period, he accumulated 33 catches for 351 yards and four touchdowns. In the playoff matchup against the Vikings, Hodgins excelled, making eight receptions for 105 yards and one touchdown.
