West Brom: Fresh update emerges on Shilen Patel takeover timeline at The Hawthorns

New West Brom owner Shilen Patel is still expected to sign on the dotted line to complete his takeover at The Hawthorns this week, according to Joe Chapman.

The Birmingham Live journalist reported via X on Thursday (22 February) that the Baggies had hoped that Patel and his company Bilkul Football WBA, LLC would complete their handover this week after agreeing to acquire an 87.8 per cent stake in West Bromwich Albion Group Limited.

So far, there has been no confirmation that the deal has been ratified and the handover completed, but the takeover still ought to be completed in the coming days to end Guochuan Lai’s tenure at The Hawthorns.

Writing on X (22 February) he said: “It was hoped that it’d be this week. Adam. Still ought to be.”

When will the West Brom takeover be completed?

After plenty of initial hype at The Hawthorns when it was announced that Patel had agreed a takeover to acquire the controlling stake in West Brom, the excitement has slightly quietened as the final aspects of the deal are finalised.

Everything remains on track for Patel to rubber-stamp his acquisition of the controlling stake in West Bromwich Albion Group Limited and the official handover should be completed and announced sooner rather than later.

Hopefully, the Baggies will be able to continue going from strength to strength on the pitch to impress their new owner and supporters will be eagerly watching to see whether he is in attendance for Saturday’s clash with Hull City.
