Quarterback Jared Goff had an exceptional 2023 season, leading the Detroit Lions to their most impressive finish in 32 years. However, the remarkable performance of their offensive line played a vital role in their success. With this exceptional group of blockers on the front line, Detroit boasted the third-best offense in the NFL, and Pro Football Focus ranked the Lions’ offensive line as the second-best unit in the league.
To express his gratitude for their achievements, Goff decided to reward each member of the team’s offensive line with a Breitling watch valued at $11,500. Employing a clever play on his own name, the quarterback collaborated with the renowned jeweler Jared. During a recent encounter in Las Vegas, Jared approached Goff after a season in which Lions fans enthusiastically chanted “We went to Jared” and held up signs, cleverly referencing the jeweler’s famous slogan.
In a video shared on social media, Jared Goff explained that the luxury timepieces were distributed to several individuals, including Taylor Decker, Jonah Jackson, Frank Ragnow, Graham Glasgow, Penei Sewell, as well as reserves Dan Skipper, Kayode Awisoka, and Colby Sorsdal.
Goff humorously referred to the watches as “From Jared, by Jared” in the video.
According to WWD, Goff received one Breitling watch for himself and had an additional 10 watches to give as gifts. Eight of those watches were allocated to his offensive linemen.
As for the other two watches, there is speculation that head coach Dan Campbell and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson may receive these luxury gifts as well.
