Lily Jordan has concluded an outstanding debut season with the Geelong Cats by securing the 2024 VFLW Best and Fairest award. Jordan’s performance throughout the season was exceptional, making 11 appearances and averaging more than 17 disposals and nine tackles per game, showcasing her dominance in the midfield. Her impressive form was particularly evident in a standout game against Williamstown, where she racked up 28 disposals.
Jordan led the voting with 57 votes, while Breanna Pratt came in second with 48 votes. Pratt had another solid season, averaging 12.2 disposals per game and significantly contributing to Geelong’s consecutive victories in Rounds 3 and 4, where she also scored. Pratt has been a reliable presence for the Cats, having played 48 games over the past four seasons since joining from the Casey Demons.
Poppy Schaap took third place with 47 votes. Schaap consistently performed well, averaging 16.2 disposals in 11 games and achieving double-digit tackle counts on three occasions.
Molly Walton was honored with the new Hoops Award, which recognizes players for their commitment to team values, support for teammates, and overall positive engagement in the VFLW program. Mia Fuller received the Cats Values Award, voted on by her peers, for embodying the team’s values. Chantal Mason was acknowledged as the leading goalkicker for the 2024 season, scoring eight goals in eight games as she prepares for the upcoming AFLW season.
