Rangers have registered their interest in Wolves striker Fabio Silva ahead of a potential January move, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League club are willing to listen to offers for the 21-year-old, who moved to Molineux from Portuguese giants Porto for a club-record fee of £35million in 2020.
Philippe Clement’s side are eager to bolster their attacking reinforcements this winter and are eyeing up a move for the forward.
Silva is on the radar of multiple top clubs going into January, including Rangers’ rivals Celtic.
The attacker has failed to consistently impress at the West Midlands side after his huge transfer and has bagged just five goals and six assists across 72 appearances in all competitions.
This season, he has struggled to get a look-in under Gary O’Neil having made just eight Premier League appearances.
His last was a nine-minute cameo from the bench in Wolves’ 2-1 loss to Sheffield United at the start of November.
Silva has since faced a stretch of seven games without a league minute and has fallen drastically out of favour with Matheus Cunha frequently preferred at striker.
The centre-forward has netted once this season in Wolves’ 5-0 mauling of League One side Blackpool in the EFL Cup.
Rangers spent significant sums this summer on attacking reinforcements while Michael Beale was boss, including Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers and Danilo, but they have generally been considered underwhelming additions.
Clement has switched the Gers’ early-season woes and remains unbeaten in all competitions after 16 games at the helm.
After their 2-1 Christmas Eve win against Chelsea, Wolves sit 12th in the Premier League table and next face Brentford on Wednesday evening (27 December).
Rangers remain second in the Scottish top flight and next face Ross County at Ibrox on the same day.
