Paul Robinson has admitted it is “hard to predict” if Tottenham are set for a takeover after Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones landed his mega-yacht and private jet in London.
The Standard questioned on 19 December if the billionaire was looking to buy the club, with both parties refusing to comment on developments.
Robinson admitted that with the NFL link also at Tottenham, you can put two and two together with positive developments on the pitch taking centre-stage right now.
“It’s hard to predict,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.
“When you see people of that magnitude and that stature from a different sport on the investment side of things coming into the Premier League from America, you put two and two together.
“There is that link there, but there is also that NFL link, the partnerships that Tottenham look for with the stadium, we’ve seen the NFL games they’ve got there, and we’ve heard talks of a training ground and the NFL moving to London on a semi-temporary basis, so is that a deal that is being talked about?
There is a lot of American interest in the Premier League, any investment, any business side of knowledge, how to develop and grow a business with a huge amount of vast experience is welcome and the ownership side of Tottenham, the disgruntled fans, it’s kind of gone quiet since on the pitch has gone well, results that Ange has got, the togetherness between the team and the fans has taken priority over what is going on off the field.”
