‘Excellent’ – Sky Sports man blown away as ‘Miraculous’ footage emerges of Rangers star v Betis

Gary Taphouse has been left blown away by the performance and one key save of Jack Butland in the Rangers goal v Real Betis on Thursday, 14 December.

Philippe Clement’s side secured an incredible 3-2 win on Spanish soil to ensure that they qualified for the Round of 16.

Despite conceding two goals, the English goalkeeper was lauded, including this save he pulled off in the second half.

Making a total of six saves, per Sofascore, Butland exhibited exceptional shot-stopping ability, preventing further goals and keeping Rangers in contention.

Moreover, his role extended beyond traditional goalkeeping duties, highlighted by seven accurate long passes out of 15 attempts. This demonstrated his composure under pressure and ability to initiate plays from the back.

The comprehensive performance is further underscored by Butland’s prevention of 1.09 expected goals, showcasing his influence in maintaining Rangers’ defensive solidity.

Despite the concession, Butland’s all-encompassing display undoubtedly put him among the contenders if not the frontrunner for the man of the match title, contributing significantly to Rangers’ advancement in the competition.

Since his arrival in the summer, the Englishman has been incredible for the club and was thriving even under Michael Beale, while others failed.

It remains to be seen just how far this side can go in Europe and they’ll undoubtedly have some tough challenges on the way.
