Ronald Acuña Jr. stole his 190th career base during the first inning of Monday’s game against the Miami Marlins and passed Rafael Furcal for the Atlanta era record. Acuña is now tied for the major league lead with 10 stolen bases this season.
Furcal needed 817 games to get his 189 stolen baes. Acuña did it in his 694th game. Acuña is in good company and is 50 stolen bases behind Hank Aaron, who holds modern day record of 240. Herman Long holds the franchise record with 434 stolen bases.
