Injury Expert: Physios likely to be more hands on as Everton player set to miss Brighton clash

Everton midfielder Andre Gomes is set to miss the game against Brighton as he’s yet to recover from his calf injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the main focus is in the training room and not on the grass with the physios playing a more hands-on role.

The 30-year-old is yet to feature for the Toffees this season as he’s been out injured for months and unavailable for selection.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Based on those comments, it sounds like he is yet to work on the grass with physios so the main focus is likely in the training room for now.

Behind the scenes, the physios will be playing a more hands-on role.

“He’s set to miss the next few games for Everton.”

Gomes appeared to be on the cusp of an exit from Goodison Park in the summer but stayed put at the club.

There was reported interest from Turkey and after a relatively calm loan spell out, it did not seem like Sean Dyche was desperate to keep him at the club.

It remains to be seen, given his fitness issues, whether or not the Portugal international will be at the club beyond the January window.
