Miami Heat’s veteran guard Kyle Lowry is sidelined for tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs. He is out for rest purposes on the second night of Miami’s back-to-back.
His recent success from beyond the arc is a major cause behind the Heat’s four-game win streak.
They took down Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night, 117-109. Lowry played a key role in the victory, with stars Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler out.
He finished the night with 17 points, four assists, and one steal on 4 of 6 shooting from three-point range. Lowry has shown flashes of his Toronto Raptors self in the past two games.
His top performance of the season came against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. He recorded 17 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists on 45.5 percent shooting in the six-point win.
With Lowry and Herro sidelined, the Heat may start Duncan Robinson and Josh Richardson. These guards lack playmaking abilities, meaning the Heat could struggle on the offensive end.
However, All-Star center Bam Adebayo is showcasing superstar performances. In the win against Atlanta, Adebayo finished with 26 points, 17 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals on 75 percent shooting.
The Heat are looking to expand on their winning streak before taking on the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday.
