Dion Dublin wowed by ‘amazing’ Everton star who did ‘really well’ in int’l match tonight

Dion Dublin was wowed by Everton star Jordan Pickford after what he did in the first half for England against Italy on Tuesday (17 October).

Speaking on co-commentary for Channel 4 (08:33pm), the pundit said the Three Lions keeper did “really well” as he made a “great save” down to his left to deny Destiny Udogie.

He added that the way the 29-year-old Toffees man got up quickly to potentially sniff out any more danger was “amazing” as he stopped his side from going behind at Wembley.

“What a save that is by the way,” said Dublin. “What a save. The goalkeeper has done really well there to get himself into that position. Jordan Pickford is going to his right because he thinks he might be putting it in that near post, it’s a really strong left hand. It’s all he could do.

“It’s impressive because he’s had to get across the goal. The speed he gets up again because he thinks there might be another chance coming in is amazing. Great save.”

There is no doubt that the Everton number one has been an extremely safe pair of hands for England over the years and that’s why he’s kept his place for so long.

This was another instance where Pickford proved his worth to the Three Lions side after getting down well to his left to make a big save for his side.

It came at a crucial moment right on the stroke of half-time and his teammates will have no doubt been thankful to him for ensuring they didn’t go in behind at the break.

After a disappointing start to the season for the Toffees, where he made a couple of errors, the keeper has managed to turn things around over the past month or so.

The Blues simply need him fit and at his best if they are to have a successful campaign as Sean Dyche looks to try and help them compete higher up in the Premier League table.

In other Everton news, the club could have been handed a January transfer boost in their bid to sign a player.
