Broja on the move?
Former Newcastle United target Armando Broja could be on the move this month – but Chelsea want £50m to prize him away from Stamford Bridge. The Magpies were linked with the Albanian striker in 2022, before signing Alexander Isak.
Broja had impressed on a season-long loan at Southampton, but returned to Chelsea looking to push for a first-team place. Injury hampered that aim last season, but now he could be on the move after failing to break into Mauricio Pochettino’s reckonning on a regular basis. Fulham are reported to be ready to make a move, with the the Cottagers still looking for a replacement for Aleksandar Mitrovic, who left in the summer.
Newcastle could also be in the market for a striker, but Broja’s pricetag means they are unlikely to make a move for the 22-year-old.
Goncalo Inacio
Reports in Portugal claim Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio has ‘rejected’ Newcastle United and is waiting an offer from Manchester United or Liverpool.
Whether the Magpies had actually made a move for the £50m-rated defender remains to be seen – especially given the currrent FFP restrictions – but O Jogo report that the player is keen on a move elsewhere. Inacio has a €60m release clause – and understandably Sporting won’t be doing business for anything less than that.
