Ange Postecoglou has hailed Tottenham youngsters Jamie Donley and Alfie Dorrington after stepping up to train with the first team at Hotspur Way. Two players who are rated extremely highly at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, both have played major roles for the club’s Under-21s this season.
Donley, who has registered 12 goal involvements in only six games, was named as part of the Spurs squad for last weekend’s match against Liverpool but he unfortunately did not come on to make his senior Tottenham bow. With Manor Solomon joining Brennan Johnson and Ivan Perisic in the treatment room at present, Donley could well keep his place in the squad for Saturday’s game against Luton Town.

Dorrington has also made a huge impression for the Under-21s, thus seeing him nominated for September’s Premier League 2 player of the month award. Asked about both youngsters in his pre-match press conference, Postecoglou praised the duo but stated that they have to continue to keep working as they look to become first-team regulars in the future.
“With the young guys like Jamie, he’s been doing really well with the U21s consistently,” said the 58-year-old when previewing the Luton Town game at Hotspur Way. “Jamie and Alfie Dorrington have really stood out and that’s why they’ve been training with us.
They’ve got to keep working and it doesn’t mean they’re ahead in the pecking order of people like Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett who are out on loan. I’ve been really pleased with Jamie and Alfie though, they’ve been working well.”
