A Transfer that Will Shake the Football World : This monumental deal has the potential to revolutionize the transfer market, setting a new standard for midfielder signings and cementing Tottenham’s status as a global powerhouse
Spurs are looking at signing a rumoured Arsenal target, according to a recent report.
Ange Postecoglou’s side finished fifth in the Premier League last season and will be keen to go one better next term.
Qualifying for the Champions League will be the aim, though, with Europa League football on the horizon, investment is needed in the squad to be able to compete across four fronts.
With that said, a fresh rumoured incoming has emerged out of North London.
Tottenham Hotspur interested in Youssouf Fofana
According to Corriere Torino, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana.
The report claims Spurs are providing Juventus with ‘strong competition’ for the signature of the 25-year-old. Serie A giants AC Milan are also pursuing a deal, as are West Ham United.
Fofana is currently away with France at the European Championships in Germany and came on as a late substitute in their opening-game victory against Austria.
His Monaco contract expires next summer so he is expected to depart the Ligue 1 outfit for a discounted fee.
A £25m price tag has been mooted.
Youssouf Fofana profile
Fofana mainly operates in the middle of the park, at the base of midfield are as a box-to-box.
His FBref statistics make for very impressive reading as he ranks in the top five per cent for progressive passes per 90 compared to his positional peers across Europe.
Further, he sits in the top 11 per cent for successful take-ons, amplifying his dribbling ability.
If Spurs do land his signature for the rumoured £25m, it’d be a shrewd acquisition.
