Micky van de Ven has shared his thoughts on what type of captain Son Heung-min is for Tottenham Hotspur.
A position held by Hugo Lloris for many, many years, that role was handed to Son Heung-min by Ange Postecoglou’s this summer.
For the Tottenham faithful, it was a no-brainer because of how popular he is, not just with the fans, but in the dressing room itself.
And now, Micky van de Ven, who joined Spurs this summer, has stated that Son Heung-min ‘hypes up everyone before the game’, as he told Tottenham’s YouTube channel.
Each captain is different, you wouldn’t imagine Son as a shouter or a screamer, he is no Roy Keane, that’s for sure.
But every skipper works his own way, as Micky van de Ven was asked about the South Korean star.

“It’s important that the captain is not only a real captain on the pitch, but also off the pitch,” said van de Ven.
“On the pitch, straight, clear, cheers everyone up before the game and hypes everyone up before the game.”
Son is Mr. Popular at Tottenham
One of the biggest and best things Ange Postecoglou has done at Tottenham is change the mood around the place after last season’s morale-sapping results and performances.
Aside from how Tottenham’s new man has conducted himself and how that has played a part in their transformation, another reason is the decisions he has made, such as giving Son the armband.
The 31-year-old is Mr Popular, so it’s easy for him to mix with others and bring everyone together, which is what Spurs desperately needed after falling out of Europe.
