Brentford 1 Everton 3. A result and performance to live long in the memory – for the wrong reasons. That visit to Nottingham Forest on Sunday cannot come soon enough. Assuming The Bees have any players left. That, Kevin Schade’s unijury in the warm up meant he joined Ben Mee, Rico Henry, Josh Dasilva, Shandon Baptiste, Ivan Toney and Mikkel Damsgaard on the absentee list of those players who’d normally be involved in a matchday squad.
On the plus side Neal Maupay, who also missed out against Everton due to the loan rules, will be available for that game at the City Ground. He’s sure to get a decent run out against Nottingham Forest but what about the others? Did anyone shine against Everton? Who was our star player? Can anything be salvaged from the wreckage? Presumably this was a one-off?
