Andy Robertson has praised Jarell Quansah after the Liverpool defender made his full debut for the club against Wolves.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Scotland international was full of praise for the 20-year-old, who started in central defence as Joe Gomez shifted to right-back.
Quansah has been one of Liverpool’s breakout players this season having featured off the bench against Newcastle United and Aston Villa to close out wins.
And the defender was rewarded with his first professional star for Liverpool against Wolves, with Robertson impressed with Quansah’s performance on the weekend.
The left-back said: “Excellent from the big man. I don’t think many of us helped him in the first half, which, when you’ve got experienced players around, you probably look for help more.
He has got a bright future ahead of him but the here and now is pretty good as well and for him to step in at a really tough place to come, a really tough team to play against, and to put in that performance, particularly in the second half, then fair play to him for his first start.”

Quansah has emerged as a shining light for Liverpool in what has been a strong season for the Reds in the Premier League, and Robertson’s comments will no doubt please the youngster.
The England youth international is likely to feature for Liverpool on a regular basis with Ibrahima Konate out injured, with this Thursday in the UEFA Europa League another game Quansah could start.
And Robertson’s praise of Quansah will be a massive boost to the centre-back’s confidence, with more to come from the 20-year-old this season.
