Alasdair Gold reveals Spurs fought off ‘eye-watering’ offers for two starlets this year.

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham fought off ‘eye-watering offers’ for academy starlets, Mikey Moore and Callum Olusesi, and tied them down to new contracts this summer.

Moore is widely seen as one of the most promising talents in the Spurs academy, with the winger scoring three goals and providing four assists in 10 appearances for the Under-18s last season (Transfermarkt).

The 16-year-old also featured on a couple of occasions in Premier League 2 and played five times in Tottenham’s UEFA Youth League campaign in 2022-23.

The teenager signed his first professional contract back in June, with Fabrizio Romano revealing at the time that Daniel Levy and the Spurs board fought hard to keep the winger at the club as he was attracting interest from several European sides.

Another 16-year-old in Olusesi, also penned his first professional contract at Hotspur Way this summer, with Football Insider reporting back in May that Tottenham fought off competition from Man United, Newcastle United, Leeds United and Brighton to keep the youngster at the club.

Spurs managed to fight off interest in young duo

Gold has now stated that the club convinced both youngsters to stay at Spurs despite receiving some lucrative offers.

The journalist said on his YouTube channel: “Mikey Moore and Callum Olusesi, at 16 years old have committed their future to Spurs. I was told there were eye-watering offers coming in for them. Eye-watering offers coming in for players that were 15/16 years old, but they’ve decided to stay at Spurs.”
